Russian Ambassador to Egypt, Georgy Borisenko, addressed Russian community in Egypt and Egyptian people on the occasion of New Year.

In his message, he highlighted the strengthening bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations and reflected on the major global events of 2025.

Borisenko stated that Russia takes immense pride in its friendship with Egypt and remains fully open to further enhancing this partnership in 2026.

He emphasized that mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries are essential guarantees for overcoming challenges and achieving stability, not only in the Middle East but across the entire world.

The Russian Ambassador noted that 2025 was a year filled with significant events.

He pointed out that Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, and Iran faced external aggression, while the Palestinian people endured severe suffering amidst attempts to displace them from their land.

However, he noted a "glimmer of hope" in the Gaza Strip, attributing it largely to the extraordinary efforts made by the Egyptian leadership.

Regarding bilateral relations, Borisenko highlighted several key pillars of cooperation:

Cultural Ties: Growing cultural bonds supported by a large number of mixed families and a steady flow of tourism.

Economic projects: Significant progress in the construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant and the continued supply of Russian grain to Egypt.

International Coordination: Shared approaches to global issues through joint work within the BRICS group and comprehensive coordination on the international stage.

The Ambassador expressed Russia's deep appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s attendance at the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War celebrations in Moscow on May 9.

He also underscored the importance of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum Ministerial Conference, held in Cairo on December 19-20, which reaffirmed Egypt's pivotal role as a "Window to Africa."

Closing his message, Borisenko extended his warmest congratulations to the Egyptian and Russian peoples, wishing everyone a happy New Year filled with joy and prosperity.
