Russian defense officials reported that the country’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed 129 Ukrainian drones over several regions, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The ministry did not specify the exact locations of the interceptions but said that the operation was part of ongoing defensive measures amid escalating tensions along the Russia–Ukraine front.
The claim comes as both sides continue to exchange drone strikes and artillery fire, contributing to heightened security concerns across Russia’s western regions.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, and Russian authorities are continuing to monitor airspace to prevent further attacks.
