Russian, African Experts Discuss Joint Cooperation in Nuclear Energy

Russian and African experts to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, within the framework of the second summit of the Russian-African Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which concludes today, Friday, in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The session was held within the framework of the axis related to cooperation in the science and technology sector, under the title "Nuclear Technology for the Development of the African Region", with the participation of Ruslan Edilgrave, Advisor to the Russian President and Special Presidential Representative for Climate Issues, and Amgad El-Wakil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Nuclear Energy Authority.

For his part, Ruslan Edelgrave pointed out that the population of Africa exceeds one billion people, and by 2050, the population on the continent will triple and will represent a third of the world's population. But without stable access to energy sources and the development of energy systems, no development is possible.

The experts participating in the session agreed that one of the most important strategic tasks that every country faces in the modern world system is obtaining technology that guarantees energy security, ensures sustainable development in various economic sectors, and increases the scientific and human capabilities of each country.
