Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov said that his country is deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the humanitarian crisis that followed the October 7 attacks.
Speaking at a press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, Lavrov stressed that what is happening in the Palestinian territories constitutes a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
Moreover, he underlined that punishing the Palestinian people in Gaza because of the October 7 attacks is unacceptable.
Lavrov further explained that ensuring the basic humanitarian needs of Gaza’s residents is an urgent priority, emphasizing that the international community must seize every available opportunity to stop the escalation in the Palestinian territories.
