Russian Security Arrested 6 People on Charges of Spying for Ukraine

The Russian Federal Security Service (RFSS) arrested 6 people in several provinces across the country on charges of espionage for Ukrainian forces.

The RFSS said - in a statement reported by the "Russia Today" news channel - that its personnel managed to thwart the criminal activities of Russian and Ukrainian citizens within the territory of several constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The suspects communicated with and assisted the Security Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The RFSS investigated two detainees on charges related to criminal cases according to Article 275 under the item of treason and espionage, and treason in the form of providing other assistance to representatives of a foreign country, according to Article 276 under the item of espionage.

The Russian authority stated that a secret intelligence group affiliated with the Ukrainian General Security Service was arrested in the Perm region, and its tasks included preparing and implementing terrorist attacks and sabotage within the territory of Russia.
