The Russian presidency (the Kremlin) condemned in the strongest terms the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
"The Kremlin is deeply saddened over the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday, stressing that his country condemns Abe's assassination in the strongest terms, stressing that Abe was a patriot and defended Japan's interests for many years.
Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would send a telegram of condolences for Abe's death.
