Russia announced that the Russian army simulated the launch of missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, in the Kaliningrad enclave.

These statements came at the time when the Russian forces continue their military campaign in Ukraine on February 24.

The announcement of this simulation comes on the 70th day of the start of the Russian military intervention in Ukraine, which left thousands dead and caused the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II, as the number of displaced people from their homes reached more than 13 million people.

After sending troops to Ukraine in late February, Russian President Vladimir Putin made almost explicit threats about his willingness to deploy tactical nuclear weapons.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse (AFP) that during military exercises in Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave on the Baltic Sea between Poland and Lithuania, two EU member states, the Russian army conducted simulations of “electronic operations to launch” the “Iskander” ballistic missile systems
