Russia has delivered humanitarian aid to Lebanon as part of emergency relief efforts following recent fighting, according to Russian officials.
A transport aircraft, identified as an Ilyushin Il-76, operated by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, carried supplies to Lebanon on Tuesday.
The ministry said the mission was organized under instructions from Vladimir Putin to support civilians affected by the conflict.
The shipment included around 27 tons of humanitarian aid, such as mobile power stations, food supplies, tents, and other essential items.
Officials also confirmed that the aircraft is expected to evacuate Russian nationals from Lebanon on its return journey.
The aid delivery follows the announcement of a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah on 17 April, which is set to last for 10 days, providing a window for humanitarian assistance and evacuations.
