Russia will be sending a free shipment of wheat flour to the Central African Republic, Alexander Pekantov, the Russian Ambassador to the Central African Republic, announced on Friday.

During a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, Felix Moloua, Ambassador Pekantov commented on the coordination of positions regarding prospects for cooperation across various domains.

"The two parties have coordinated their positions regarding prospects for cooperation across various domains," said the ambassador.

"A shipment of humanitarian aid in the form of wheat flour will be sent from Russia to the Central African Republic."

Responding to a question about whether cooperation in the fields of oil or military-technical cooperation had been discussed during the meeting, Pekantov clarified that these matters were not discussed.

It is worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously announced during a speech at the Russia-Africa Summit last July that Moscow would provide grains free of charge to six African countries over three to four months.

Putin explained that Russia was prepared to provide between 25,000 to 50,000 tons of grain for free to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, the Central African Republic, and Eritrea in the coming months.
