Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Minister said it is impossible to discuss Zelenskyy's pledge not to use HIMARS to strike Russia.

This came in a live interview with Vladimir Solovyov, a famous Russian television presenter on his daily program, “Solovyov Live” on Thursday morning, as she said it is important to have real data.

Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl said yesterday, Wednesday that the US will send a new package of aid to Ukraine, including 4 multiple launch rocket systems HIMARS, capable of hitting targets with a range of up to 80 km.

Washington got a pledge from Ukraine, and from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself not to use these systems in striking targets in Russian targets.

Moscow demanded written security guarantees because no one can rely on Zelenskyy’s statements or any of the Western leaders. Their words have no weight, they are not important, and no pledges or words can be discussed in context, especially the Ukrainian president, Zakharova added.

“There must be real data, a real understanding of what is happening on earth, and a similar response to the mass of our power,” she said.

Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister told the “RIA Novosti” news agency that Moscow views the new package of US aid to Ukraine, which includes HIMARS, very negatively.
