Al Sayed Al-Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, received a report from Ahmed Al-Attar, head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, reports today about the release of Egyptian orange shipments seized in Russian ports and the abolition of the ban imposed on some Egyptian companies exporting citrus.

This comes as a culmination of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture represented by the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, in coordination with the Egyptian Embassy, the Commercial Representation Office in Moscow and the Agricultural Crops Export Council.

Yesterday, the Minister of Agriculture received the Russian ambassador in Cairo and discussed with him the crisis of holding Egyptian citrus fruits in Russian ports and asked him to quickly release the shipments because they meet all the requirements and technical specifications required by the Russian agricultural quarantine.

Al-Qusair thanked Ambassador Nazih Al-Najari, Egypt's ambassador in Moscow, for his efforts in communicating with the Russian Consumer Protection Authority, and he also thanked the Egyptian commercial representation for their efforts to solve the crisis.

Al-Qusayr praised the efforts of the Egyptian agricultural quarantine to move immediately and negotiate with international bodies in order to preserve the reputation of Egyptian exports.

This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Agriculture to support exports and solve any problems facing export companies.

The agricultural quarantine held several urgent meetings with the Egyptian ambassador in Moscow and sent all the necessary technical data to negotiate with the Russian Consumer Protection Authority in order to reverse the decision to stop some shipments of Egyptian citrus and ban two Egyptian companies from exporting.

It is worth noting that Egypt ranks first in the world in the export of citrus fruits
