Russia has announced plans for a new tourist mission to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Soyuz MS spacecraft, set for the second half of 2025.

The mission, organized by Glavkosmos, a subsidiary of the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos, marks another step in the commercialization of space travel.

According to a statement released by Glavkosmos and reported by Russian news agency Sputnik on Monday, the mission is scheduled to launch in the third or fourth quarter of 2025 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The journey to the ISS will take nearly three hours, with a planned stay of 10 days on the space station.

The overall preparation time for the mission is expected to be around 10 months, with four to five months dedicated to intensive training.

The Soyuz MS spacecraft will carry one professional cosmonaut and two space tourists. The preparation for the mission includes a thorough medical examination, development of the flight program, and personalized training.

Those selected for the mission will undergo training sessions at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center located in the Moscow region.
