Russia evacuated more than 19,800 people from dangerous areas in Ukraine, Luhansk and Donetsk, head of Russian National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev announced on Monday.
“Despite the obstacles created by Kyiv over the past day, and without the participation of the Ukrainian authorities, 19,834 people were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas in Ukraine, Donetsk, and Luhansk, among them 970 children, “Mizintsev said in comments reported by ‘Sputnik’ News Agency.
Moreover, he noted that more than 857,791 people have been evacuated, including more than 206,610 children, since the start of the military operation.
It is worth mentioning that, the Russian-Ukrainian war has entered its second month as thousands of soldiers from both sides have been killed and millions have been displaced from the Ukrainian side since the start of Russian operations in Ukrainian territory on February 24.
Several countries have imposed significant economic sanctions on Moscow, while Russia has responded by imposing personal sanctions on a number of American and Canadian leaders.
