Russia is currently considering revoking the recognition of Lithuania's independence, deputy of the State Duma Yevgeny Fyodorov said.

Fyodorov added that Russia could rescind its recognition of the independence of Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine as well in the future.

He had submitted to the Russian Parliament a bill on canceling the decision of the State Council of the Soviet Union recognizing the independence of Lithuania.

The deputy noted that this decision is illegal because it was issued by the unconstitutional body, which violated several provisions of the Constitution of the Soviet Union.

Fyodorov told "Sputnik" that the constitution of the Soviet Union established a special and distinct system for the exit of the cities of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, Klaipėda, and the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant from the Soviet Union.

He indicated that after Lithuania, the same demand could be raised regarding Estonia, Latvia, and Ukraine.
