Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia is interested in facilitating signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
This came at the start of his meeting with his counterpart, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, today, Monday, in Moscow.
Lavrov said, "The important issue is the course of implementation of the tripartite agreements reached by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia in November 2020, and in January and November 2021, and then in late October there was another summit in Sochi," according to the Russian Tass news agency.
He added, “We are interested in facilitating the removal of transport restrictions, the demarcation of borders, the conclusion of a peace treaty and, in general, the promotion of confidence-building measures, through contacts between social institutions, political scientists and parliamentarians.”
