Russia has stepped up high-precision strikes on key targets across Ukraine, including energy facilities, ammunition depots, and workshops used to manufacture drones, according to statements from the Russian Ministry of Defensea.
The strikes, carried out over the past several hours, are part of what Moscow describes as a sustained campaign targeting Ukraine’s military infrastructure. Attacks on power stations have become almost daily, reflecting a strategy aimed at increasing pressure on Kyiv, particularly as winter temperatures heighten the importance of energy supply.
Russian officials say the strikes are a response to previous Ukrainian attacks inside Russian territory, which they claim included strikes on civilian infrastructure and military figures. Moscow argues that the intensified campaign is intended to push Ukraine toward accepting Russian conditions in any future negotiations.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones have continued to penetrate Russian airspace, prompting Russian air defenses to intercept them. These incidents have led to temporary airport closures and flight delays in several cities, including Moscow. Despite the disruptions, Russian authorities maintain that the drone attacks have not altered the overall situation on the battlefield, claiming continued military advances as leverage in talks with Kyiv.
