Russia Gas Supply to Resume if Bulgaria Pays in Roubles- Amb.

The Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Eleonora Mitrofanova confirmed Moscow's readiness to resume gas supplies to Bulgaria, provided that payment will be accepted only in Russian roubles.

Mitrofanova explained that many experts call on the Bulgarian authorities to be pragmatic and return to the agreement with "Gazprom".

"At any time when the Bulgarian side decides to pay according to Gazprom's plan, supply will be resumed," she added, noting that the contract for the supply of gas to Bulgaria is valid until the end of this year.

Last April, "Gazprom" completely stopped gas supplies to the Bulgarian company "Bulgar Gas" as it refused to for gas in roubles.
