Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) extended, on Monday, the ban on flights to 11 airports in central and southern Russia this time until April 25.
"Temporary restrictions on flights to 11 Russian airports, namely, Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista, has been extended until 3:45 a.m. on April 25," the agency said.
This is the ninth time the agency announced plans to suspend domestic flights to and from a number of airports in Russia.
Airlines are still recommended to transport passengers to these cities via the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol, and Moscow.
Rosaviatsiya imposed the flight ban on February 24, the day the Russian special military operation in Ukraine began.
Last March, Rosaviatsiya announced resuming flights with eight countries after cancelling the COVID-19 flight ban. The countries are; Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran.
