The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Tuesday the targeted attacks against civilians and civilian facilities in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement reported by the Russian news agency TASS, the Ministry said: "Moscow emphasized that this war should never have broken out, and there is no justification for its continuation... It is urgently necessary to avoid further human and material losses by all means."
The statement reaffirmed Russia's firm support for the UAE in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, while denouncing attacks directed at civilians and civilian infrastructure.
It further stressed that Russia will continue its mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire, end further hostilities, and restore peace and stability in the Middle East as soon as possible.
The statement followed a meeting between the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Aleksandr Alimov, and the UAE Ambassador to Moscow, Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber.
