Russia has called for an urgent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on Monday to discuss accusations that Russian forces committed atrocities against Ukrainian civilians in Bucha, outside Kyiv.
"In the light of the heinous provocation of Ukrainian radicals in Bucha, Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday, April 4," Russia's Deputy Ambassador to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy tweeted.
On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russian leaders of "torture" and "killing", after the discovery of mass graves, and corpses in Bucha.
It is worth mentioning that, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that all their military units left the Ukrainian city of Bucha on March 30, denying Kyiv’s accusations of mass killings in the city of Bucha.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that all the photos and videos published by the Kyiv regime, which allegedly indicate “crimes” by the Russian military in the city of Bucha, represent a new provocation.
The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that no local residents were harmed during the Russian armed forces’ control of this city.
