Russia-Africa Joint Summit to Kick off Next October

Egypt's foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that the Russian city of Sochi will host the first Russia-Africa Summit on October.

The summit will bring bilateral relations to a new level, according to Director of Africa Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Kemarsky .

Kemarsky explained that the summit will be chaired by the Russian and Egyptian presidents and will discuss issues related to the modern international situation, current relations of both countries in political, trade and economic and other areas.

Also, it will bring together all of Africa's heads of state and the heads of major regional organisations.

The agenda will also address other joint efforts to face evolving challenges and threats, in addition to ways to boost regional stability, the statement read.

Meanwhile, El-Sisi and Putin will inaugurate an economic forum in Russia on 23 October, with the participation of Africanو Russian officials and representatives of major corporations, according to Egypt's foreign ministry.

Noteworthy, the Russia–Africa summit is expected to be attended by roughly 3,000 African businessmen.
