Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City and former federal prosecutor, said that the National Council of Resistance of Iran, led by Maryam Rajavi, represents an organized democratic alternative capable of leading the transitional period following the fall of the ruling theocracy.
Giuliani said Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan provides a clear program for Iran’s future based on free elections, separation of religion and state, gender equality, abolition of the death penalty, fundamental freedoms, minority rights, and a non-nuclear Iran living peacefully with its neighbors.
He stressed that this vision is fundamentally different from both the current rule of the mullahs and attempts to restore the Shah’s dictatorship. The Iranian people did not make enormous sacrifices merely to replace religious tyranny with hereditary rule.
Giuliani said the regime’s propaganda against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran reflects its fear of the movement’s organization, sacrifices, and presence inside the country. The PMOI has defended a democratic platform for decades and remains the regime’s principal target because it represents a serious organized challenge to its survival.
He added that executions, mass arrests, and internet shutdowns reveal the regime’s fear of renewed uprisings. The system is deteriorating from within under the pressure of economic collapse, social anger, and the activities of the Resistance Units.
Giuliani described Britain’s designation of the IRGC as a terrorist entity as an important step that should be followed by similar European measures. He also welcomed the statement signed by more than 120 Arab figures condemning the Iranian regime’s attacks against Arab countries.
He concluded that democratic change in Iran does not require an external war or a foreign-imposed alternative. It requires international recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist dictatorship and support for their organized democratic movement.
