U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the objective of the war on Iran is to eliminate Iranian missile capabilities, noting that Tehran is no longer targeting only military bases but also embassies and various other sites.
In press statement, he emphasized that Washington is not preparing to deploy U.S. ground troops in Iran.
Moreover, Rubio confirmed that the military operation against Iran is progressing ahead of its scheduled timeline.
He added: "There was an imminent threat from Iran, which was prepared to launch strikes against us as soon as it faced an Israeli attack; therefore, it was necessary to launch the current operation."
Furthermore, Rubio expressed hope that the Iranian people would "topple this regime," reiterating that the goal of the operation is to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities and deprive it of the weapons that threaten U.S. interests.
