US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
This came during a phone call Rubio had with Fidan, according to a statement published by the US State Department.
The statement stated that the two ministers discussed strengthening relations between the United States and Turkey and the two countries' cooperation as allies under the NATO umbrella.
The two sides also discussed their continued support for peace and stability in the Middle East and agreed on the need to continue diplomatic efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine through a lasting negotiated settlement.
