U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio intends not to attend the NATO foreign ministers meeting in Brussels, scheduled for December 3, for unclear reasons, accoeding to Reuters.
Moreover, Reuters clarified that the United States will be represented at the NATO foreign ministers meeting by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
The agency noted that "it is completely unclear why Rubio is refraining from attending the NATO foreign ministers meeting on December 3," explaining that "the Secretary of State's plans could change at the last minute."
NATO foreign ministers (FMs) are scheduled to hold their next meeting on December 3 at the Alliance's headquarters in Brussels, chaired by Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
