US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that US President Donald Trump has made it clear that the war between Russia and Ukraine must end, emphasizing that a diplomatic solution is the only way to end the conflict.
Rubio added, in a post on the social media platform X after the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, that he reiterated Washington's position that "there is no military solution to this conflict, only a diplomatic one."
Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak had previously discussed with Rubio preparations for a planned meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the NATO summit on June 24-25.
