US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that Russia is currently showing no desire to reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters following a meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers in the Canadian province of Ontario, Rubio stated: "As of this moment, Washington's assessment indicates that Russia does not want to reach a peaceful settlement in Ukraine at this time."
He added: "That is the only assessment we can make at this stage... We would like to see this war end."
