Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo "Hemedti", commander of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, announced that the Egyptian forces present at Meroe Airport are safe.

On its part, the Egyptian armed forces issued a statement in which they made it clear that they are closely following the events taking place inside Sudanese territory.
