Shrapnel from a rocket fell in an uninhabited area of Irbid in northern Jordan, amid escalating tensions and the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. No injuries have been reported, and authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced on Saturday that warning sirens will be activated as needed until 1:00 PM due to the heightened military threat in the region. Any updates to siren schedules will be communicated promptly.
Siren signals are defined as follows: three intermittent sirens indicate a threat, while a single siren signals that the threat has passed.
During the three-siren alert, residents are advised to stay where they are, seek shelter in the nearest building if outdoors, avoid windows and open areas, and remain near reinforced structures such as concrete staircases when available.
The PSD emphasized strict precautions regarding unfamiliar or potentially explosive objects.
Citizens are urged not to approach, touch, move, or attempt to open any suspicious item. Maintain maximum distance and allow specialized teams to handle such objects safely.
Reporting incidents immediately via the unified emergency number (911) is strongly advised, whether for suspicious objects, drones, missiles, injuries, or property damage.
Families, particularly children, are urged to avoid interacting with unknown items and to report them immediately.
The PSD also warned against spreading rumors or sharing unverified images or videos on social media, advising that information be obtained only from official sources.
Following these guidelines will help protect lives and property while allowing authorities to respond quickly and effectively to potential threats.
