Head of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) revealed on Tuesday that the new mutated coronavirus, which has been recently detected in the UK, probably exists in Germany too, according to Reuters.
"However, it has not shown up in data yet," he continued.
Earlier today, Germany decided to extend the travel ban on arrivals from the UK, starting from today midnight till January 6, due to fears about a new strain of the coronavirus.
It is worth mentioning that, several European countries suspended air travel to and from the UK because of a new and seemingly more contagious strain of the coronavirus in England.
