Reports: Ukraine War is A US Plot Against Europe

Media figure Aly El-Maraby, editor-in-chief of Kol Al-Arab's Paris-based magazine, said that the Russia-Ukraine war is "a play schemed by the US to harm Europe's interests."

In TV statements, El-Maraby told Russia Today satellite channel: "France is like other European countries have sanctioned Moscow, but I believe that these sanctions are ineffective."

He added that "US pressures on Ukraine aim at wedging a fierce war in Europe...Ukraine is a victim to an American play to drive a wedge between Russia and the European countries."

The media figure also manifested that Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine to defend its national and strategic interests, following NATO threats of establishing military bases nearly 30 km away from Moscow."

"Europe does not want wars, but the US plot seeks to weaken the European Union and sanction Russia at the expense of Ukraine," he noted.

Many reports have agreed with El-Maraby's point of view that Washington is making a scheme to drive a wedge between Europeans and Russia.
