Tunisian media agencies reported on Sunday that a terrorist who targeted Tunisian President Kais Saied was arrested.

In addition, the headlines said that the lone wolf planned to assassinate the President nearby a coastal city.

Until now, no further details were provided regarding the incident, and no response from the Tunisian Presidency was issued.

It is not the only assassination attempt of the president as a businessman offered 20,000 Tunisian dinars as a bribe to a bakery worker who supplies the Presidency with bread, in order to carry out this scheme last year.

The worker revealed to the security units a complete scheme that a businessman tried to drag him into to assassinate the President, Saied.

The Tunisian  Al Chourouk added that a young businessman had bribed a bakery worker from where the president buys bread and refreshments, adding that “The worker was bribed with an amount of 20 thousand dinars in exchange for putting poison inside the special dough ordered by the Presidency.

According to the newspaper, the anti-crime squad took over the file, indicating that politicians might be involved in this scheme.

It is worthy to mention that Tunisia is facing a political transformation after President Saied took over the power from the ruling party, Al Nahda, and announced more political and legislative changes.
