Reports: COVID-19 Vaccines Provide 3-Month Protection

New data shows that the long-awaited Covid-19 vaccines can provide a 3-month protection according to the British Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling.

The group added the period of natural protection or vaccination against various viruses is not accurately identified yet. It continued that the person who is infected with more than 2 times, the vires gets weaker.

Moreover, it expressed that the concept of reinfection happens from three months or a year since the last vaccination which is happening with flu, and the covid the dream vaccines.

It is worthy to mention that Moderna announced that the antibodies produced by its vaccine can last for three months.

Last week, the UK government announced that it secured extra two million Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine doses according to Business Insider.

The announcement came in a governmental press released by Matt Hancock, the Health and Social Care Secretary.

This addition brought the total number of UK secured doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to almost 7 million.

Considered one of the long-waited vaccines, Moderna’s vaccine is in the final stages of phase 3 of clinical trials, alongside Novavax, AstraZeneca, Pfizer.

“With a wide range of vaccine candidates in our portfolio, we stand ready to send a vaccine should they receive approval from our medicines regulator, starting with those who will benefit most,” the statement added.

It is worthy to mention that the Pfizer vaccine could not be approved this week, according to The Financial Times.

Regarding the secured number of dozes from other kinds of vaccines, the UK has ordered 100 million doses from AstraZeneca, 60 Million from Nocavax, 60 million from Valneva, 60 million from GSK, Sanofi Pasteur, 40 million from Pfizer, and 30 million from Janssen.
