The Israeli Hebrew Channel 12 quoted an Israeli source on Monday evening as saying that there is the possibility of concluding a new prisoner exchange deal 897between Israel and Hamas, and that moves are currently taking place in this regard.
The source said, “There are conditions under which new agreements can begin to be drafted, whether from Hamas’ point of view or from Israel’s point of view.”
This comes at a time when the Strategic Communications Coordinator at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, announced that the United States is actively working to resume a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip, a truce during which prisoner exchange agreements are often concluded.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is scheduled to arrive in Israel the day after tomorrow, Thursday, for his first visit since the outbreak of war on October 7th.
Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, said: “The truce proved that none of the enemy’s prisoners were and will not be released except through an exchange. Neither Benjamin Netanyahu, nor his government, nor the Zionists in the White House can liberate a single soldier of the Al-Qassam Brigades, and the failed operation to liberate them has proven That Zionist prisoner.”
