The monster movie “Renfield” is coming to streaming after its April theatrical release.

The horror comedy will be released on digital platforms starting Tuesday, May 2.

It is based on the character of Renfield, who was first introduced in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula“.

The movie stars Nicolas Cage as Dracula and English actor Nicholas Hoult as the titular character, the vampire count’s loyal follower, and an unhinged acolyte patient in an asylum with an obsession for drinking blood, deluded into thinking he will find immortality.

The character has appeared numerous times on screen and has been portrayed by actors such as Dwight Frye in 1931’s “Dracula” and Tom Waits in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 adaptation.

The cast includes Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Bess Rous, and more.

Chris McKay is directing from a script by Ryan Ridley and a story by “The Walking Dead” comic book co-creator Robert Kirkman and authored by “Rick and Morty” writer Ryan Ridley.

McKay and Kirkman are producing alongside David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst with McKay’s producing partner, Samantha Nisenboim, exec producing.
