The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced an 83.2% increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during January 2025, reaching approximately $2.9 billion, compared to $1.6 billion in January 2024.
These inflows are unprecedented during January of any year.
The Central Bank indicated in a statement that remittances from Egyptians working abroad witnessed a significant increase during the first 7 months of the FY2024/25, increasing by 81% to approximately $20 billion, compared to $11 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
