Today, football players, coaches, and fans are commemorating Zamalek legend Hamda Emam, also Known as "The Fox" on the sixth anniversary of his untimely passing in 2016.
Zamalek fans and his son the talented Egyptian player Hazem Emam paid tribute to the iconic player on social media, as the 1965 Egypt's Premier League winner died of heart failure on Nov. 25, 2016. He was 73.
"Today marks the death anniversary of the overrated Zamalek Player Hamde Emam. We remember all your extraordinary talent, magic, and leadership," Zamalek fans and his son said.
Emam was born to the well-known Egyptian Goalkeeper Yahia Horia Emam on 28, Nov. 1943, who participated with his nation in the 1934 World Cup.
Emam was a beloved Zamalek player, as he helped them win Egypt's league title three times and three Egypt cups. Moreover, he was a versatile player on the pitch who could play in various positions for the offense.
Like his compatriot and his son Hazem, was known for his pace, highly skilled technique, and dribbling skills.
One of the renowned Egyptian football figures of all time, Emam, then just 20, was one of the rare Egyptian captains who scored 74 goals for Zamalek SC in the Egyptian Premier League.
