Remembering Stephan Rosti on His Birth Anniv.

Today, November 16, marks the birth anniversary of legendary actor Stephan Rosti, who brought a smile to millions of people. 

Rosti left an unforgettable legacy in Egypt's cinema, starring in some of its most iconic films.

Born in 1891 in Alexandria to an Italian mother and an Austrian diplomat, Rosti graduated from Ras Eltin Secondary School. He then traveled to France to join the "Acting Institute" in Paris, following his passion.

With a career spanning over 300 films, Rosti was one of the most successful and rare Jewish actors in Egypt's entertainment industry. He was renowned for portraying villain characters with a satirical inclination, and he became an icon of the Egyptian film industry.

Rosti made his showbiz debut as a young actor in Aziz Eid's theater band and later he joined Naguib El-Rihany Theater, where he acted as a comedian. His breakthrough came with 'Qalbi Dalili', starring Laila Murad, and the most acclaimed actor of his time, Anwar Wagdi.

Throughout his long-standing career, he featured in a range of well-known films, such as 'The Lady of the Palace', starring Faten Hamama and Omar El-Sherif, 'Kheshksh Bih', and 'Anter Afandi', produced by Egypt's Studio in 1935.

Furthermore, he is known for joint collaborations and associations with legendary Egyptian stars like Ismail Yassin, Shadia, Emad Hamdi, and Rushdi Abaza.

Rosti passed away on May 22, 1964.
