A foot protest march by the families of the prisoners held by the Hamas movement in its attack on Israel on October 7 arrived in Jerusalem on Saturday. Urging the government to make more efforts to return them.
The march began from Tel Aviv on Tuesday, and after thousands of participants walked 60 kilometers, they arrived on Saturday at the headquarters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in occupied Jerusalem.
The protesters carried banners reading “Send them back to their homes now,” in addition to raising Israeli flags and pictures of the hostages.
During the unprecedented attack launched by the Hamas movement on Israel last month, about 240 people, including foreigners, were captured and transferred to the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli families of the prisoners hold the government responsible for not providing them with details about efforts to release their loved ones.
The protesters are scheduled to meet with members of the Israeli war government, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot.
The “Hostage Families Forum” was established following the surprise attack launched by Hamas, during which about 1,200 people were killed, most of whom died on the first day of the attack, according to the Israeli authorities.
