Regional tensions escalated sharply after Yemen’s Houthi movement launched cruise missiles toward Israel, prompting heightened security deliberations in Tel Aviv over a potential response.

According to a statement recently issued by Israeli military, two cruise missiles were fired from Yemen toward the Negev and central Israel, but were intercepted by air defense systems before reaching their targets. The incident marks a significant expansion of the conflict, with the Yemeni front now directly involved alongside ongoing hostilities linked to Iran and Lebanon.

Israeli officials are reportedly assessing response options as the scope of threats broadens across multiple fronts. The developments come amid continued rocket fire from southern Lebanon, where Israeli defenses intercepted five projectiles and two drones targeting northern areas.

Earlier, the Israeli military said it intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iran toward the Negev. Falling debris from interception operations reportedly caused injuries to around 19 people in the city of Beit Shemesh, in addition to material damage to homes and vehicles.
