Reem Moustafa to Make Stage Debut in "Hamlet"

Egyptian actress Reem Moustafa will make her theatrical stage debut in play "Hamlet", who is set to play the role of "Ophelia", the lover of Hamlet (played by Ahmed El Saadany). "Hamlet".

The play "Hamlet", directed by Essam El-Sayed and produced by the National Theater, headed by Ehab Fahmy.

The production also stars Sawsan Badr, Abed Anani, and others. It witnesses El Saadany's comeback to stage after ten years of absence.

Hamlet, in full Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, tragedy in five acts by William Shakespeare, written about 1599–1601.It is Shakespeare's longest play with 30,557 words.

The play, set in Denmark, depicts Prince Hamlet and his revenge against his uncle, Claudius, who has murdered Hamlet's father in order to seize his throne and marry his mother.

Hamlet was one of Shakespeare's most popular works during his lifetime. It still ranks among his most performed.

The play is considered among the most powerful and influential works of world literature, which has inspired many other writers such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Charles Dickens, James Joyce, and Iris Murdoch.

Moustafa has also another upcoming project on the way, film “Alankabout” (The spider).

“Alankabout” co-starring Ahmed El Sakka, Mona Zaki, Dhaffer L’Abidine, Yosra El Lozy, Mohamed Lotfy, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab, Reem Moustafa, and others.

It is written by Mohamed Nayer and directed by Ahmed Nader.

It is worth mentioning that Moustafa, born on June 25, 1986, made her acting debut in 2013 in TV series “Fad Ishtibak” and “Heba Regl Elghorab.”

She is known for her outstanding performances in TV series “Kalabsh”, “Asham eblis”، “El-Wasya”، and “Mamoun we shoraka”.

Moustafa was seen recently in WATCH IT's first original TV series “Shadid El-Khotoura” (Extremely Dangerous) co-starring Ahmed Elawady.

It also stars Ryad El Khouly, Nahed Roshdy, Ahmed Seyam, Mahmoud Hegazy, and others.

The series directed by Hossam Ali, written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir, and is produced by Synergy production company.

“Shadid El-Khotoura” revolves around a young engineer working in the field of combating cybercrime, who faces many dangerous situations while pursuing a highly-trained criminal gang.

The series is set to be presented in more than one season with its events similar to 2005’s movie “Mr & Mrs Smith” co-starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The stars underwent preparations and exercises for the action scenes, which is a new kind of Egyptian drama.

“Mr & Mrs Smith” revolves around John (played by Brad Pitt) and Jane Smith (played by Angelina Jolie), a couple in a stagnating marriage, live a deceptively mundane existence. However, each has been hiding a secret from the other: they are assassins working for adversarial agencies. When they are both assigned to kill the same target, Benjamin Danz (Adam Brody), the truth comes to the surface. Finally free from their cover stories, they discover that they have been assigned to kill each other, sparking a series of explosive attacks.
