Reem Moustafa Joins “The King”

Egyptian actress, Reem Moustafa has recently joined the cast of TV series “El Malek” (the king), which is set to be screened in Ramadan 2021.

Moustafa was nominated to play Amenirdis I, Queen of the Hyksos, which sees actor Amr Youssef as king Ahmose I, who chased and removed the Hyksos from the Nile Delta.

The series, starring a large cast, which includes Sawsan Badr, Maged El Masry, Amina Khalil, and Mohamed Alaa.

The production is adopted from “Thebes at War“, an early novel by international writer Naguib Mahfouz.

It is directed by Hussein Al-Manbawi and penned by Mohamed, Khaled, and Sherine Diab.

The series, set to start filming at the end of December, will be produced by leading production companies Synergy and Aroma, under the auspices of the United Media Services.

It will be one of the largest and most important productions for Synergy and Aroma for the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon, as it features wars, horses, costumes, and decorations.

The series marks Youssef comeback to the Ramadan drama marathon after two years of absence, as he made his latest participation in Ramadan with the 2018 TV series  “Tayea”.

It marks the second collaboration between Moustafa and Youssef. They collaborated together for the first time in the 2017 TV series "Asham Iblis".

It is worth mentioning that Moustafa, born on June 25, 1986, made her acting debut in 2013 in TV series “Fad Ishtibak” and “Heba Regl Elghorab.”

She is known for her outstanding performances in TV series “Kalabsh”, “Asham eblis”، “El-Wasya”، and “Mamoun we shoraka”.

Moustafa was seen recently in WATCH IT’s first original TV series “Shadid El-Khotoura” (Extremely Dangerous) co-starring Ahmed Elawady.

It also stars Ryad El Khouly, Nahed Roshdy, Ahmed Seyam, Mahmoud Hegazy, and others.

The series directed by Hossam Ali, written by Mohamed Sayed Bashir, and is produced by Synergy production company.

“Shadid El-Khotoura” revolves around a young engineer working in the field of combating cybercrime, who faces many dangerous situations while pursuing a highly-trained criminal gang.

The series is set to be presented in more than one season with its events similar to 2005’s movie “Mr & Mrs Smith” co-starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The stars underwent preparations and exercises for the action scenes, which is a new kind of Egyptian drama.
