Dr. Bashar Murad, Director of Health Programs at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, warned today, Thursday, of the repercussions of the continued Israeli occupation's ban on the entry of mobile homes, especially given the worsening humanitarian crisis caused by the recent floods and storms that struck the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Murad stated in an interview with Nile TV that the humanitarian situation remains dire since the beginning of the war, which systematically destroyed the health system in the Gaza Strip. This has severely impacted the provision of services to vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, especially given the harsh weather conditions with the onset of winter.
He pointed out that the Israeli occupation has destroyed more than 90% of homes in the Gaza Strip, exacerbating the health problems of vulnerable groups due to the severe weather and the lack of heating equipment and fuel, which enters only in limited quantities to serve some hospitals in the Strip.
Dr. Murad expressed his deep regret over the continued power outages in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, emphasizing that the Palestinian Red Crescent Society continues its health programs by providing services through clinics and aid distribution centers to support those affected by these catastrophic conditions.
