As Zinedine Zidane's departure from Real Madrid confirmed, the White started working on holding talks with the new boss .
Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Sunday that the former Real Madrid's legend Raul Gonzalez is the first choice to lead the team next season.
"Massimiliano Allegri and Joachim Low are the other options, but Raul is the leading candidate," Marca said.
"He's seen as the natural replacement, continuing the Frenchman's work, and he would bring his character and work rate with him."
"Raul is ready - he's proven that with Castilla - and he understands this team and club better than almost anyone. As is logical, he's not the only name to have been put forward in board meetings, but he is the favourite amongst almost all of Real Madrid's directors," it concluded.
