Ramy Youssef Among Nominees for Screen Actors Guild Awards

Egyptian-American actor and screenwriter Ramy Youssef's name has been shortlisted in the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards.

With the nominees revealed on 4 February, Youssef will be up against Don Cheadle (Black Monday), Nicholas Hoult (The Great), Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek) and Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudekis in the Awards' Male Actor in a Comedy Series category.

 

It's worth noting that the nominees were announced in a virtual ceremony and the audience will have to wait until 4 April for the announcement of the winners.

 

Youssef has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for his show 'Ramy', a day after being nominated for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

Meanwhile, the young talented actor is also awaiting the results of the 26th Critics' Choice Awards, which will be revealed in early March.

 

Youssef who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for his work in Ramy said, "I'm so grateful to be recognized again by the HFPA, and I can't wait for awards night. Everybody knows the Golden Globes throw the best Zoom."

 

It's worth mentioning that Ramy series won several awards as well, such as the Peabody Award, the Audience Award at the SXSW Film Festival, and the Ruderman Family Foundation Seal of Authentic Representation.
