It seems that the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon started early, as it is hardly a day passes without a new contract is announced!
The beginning was with the announcement of Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz's contracting with Synergy Company for the lead role in the second part of TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice), which will be directed by Peter Mimi.

Then came, one of the biggest surprises for the next year’s drama marathon, which was the announcement of a joint collaboration between two of Egypt and the Middle East celebrities, Ahmed El Sakka and Amir Karara in TV series “Nasl Al-Agrab" (The Descendants of the Strangers).
The series is written and directed by Mohamed Sami. Mohamed Ramadan was in talks to join the series alongside El Sakka, however, he declined as he prefers to be the lead actor.
Karara was nominated instead, something that everyone was comfortable with due to the friendship and friendly nature between El Sakka and Karara, which is guaranteed to be one of the most interesting TV series presented in the forthcoming Ramadan.

However, it seems that Mohamed Ramadan was preparing for his surprise, one that is guaranteed to steal the show, as he announced his new project "Al-Embrator" (The Emperor), which is a biography series about veteran legendary actor Ahmed Zaki.
The project that was previously announced for Ramadan 2022, but due to the failure of his plans, he decided to participate with it during the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon.
The series will feature many prominent Egyptian stars.

Many TV series were set to participate in the Ramadan 2020 drama marathon got postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The series productions were suspended to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus, however, its creators failed to catch up with the shooting schedule due to lack of time and decided to resume filming immediately after Ramadan.

Early June it was announced that prominent Egyptian actor Yasser Galal, who was the first to be nominated for the role last year, will participate in the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon with TV series “Seif Allah – Khaled Ibn el-Walid”.
The historical series stars nearly 120 stars. It also features many A-lister stars such as Youssef Shaaban, Mohsen Mohieldin, Sawsan Badr, Rania Youssef, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Rania Mahmoud Yassin, and Rushdy el-Shami.
The series is directed by Raouf Abdulaziz and produced by Synergy production company.
Actor Amr Youssef was set to star as the series protagonist during Ramadan 2020, however, the series was postponed, which in turn lead to Youssef declining the role, for unknown reasons, despite filming several scenes.
In a smart way to avoid rumors, Youssef and Galal explained the situation in a video that did not exceed 3 minutes.
Galal contacted Youssef to ask his permission to take over the role, which Youssef welcomed with great generosity and congratulated him.

Meanwhile, TV series "Hagma Mortada" (Rebel Attack), starring Ahmed Ezz and Hind Sabri, is set to resume shooting, after halting its production due to the outbreak as the shooting required to be filmed in several European countries.
The series is set to premiere in the Ramadan 2021 drama marathon.

The cast of TV series "Cairo-Kabul" starring Khaled El Sawy, and Fathy Abdel Wahab, as well as the cast of TV “Khet Harir” starring Mai Ezz El-Din and Sawsan Badr, are also scheduled to resume shooting early July.
Moreover, it is reported that over 10 series will be produced and screened until Ramadan 2021. The first of these projects have already been announced, which is the TV series “El Loloa” starring Egyptian actress Mai Omar.
The series— also stars Ahmed Zahir and Edward— marks Omar’s first lead role. It is written by Zainab Aziz and directed by Mohamed Abdel Salam.
