Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca have filed a complaint over what they called ‘poor officiating’ in Al Ahly game.
Raja suffered a 2-1 defeat against Al Ahly at the Al Salam Stadium on Saturday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
Al Ahly took the lead through a penalty and doubled their advantage minutes later before Raja Casablanca’s Mohamed Zrida scored at the stroke of half-time.
The game saw controversial refereeing decisions, the biggest of which was Al Ahly penalty kick leading to the opening goal.
Despite the match referee Jean Jacques Ndala resorting to VAR, many protested against his decision, claiming that the guests’ defender didn’t handle the ball, and Raja didn’t shy away from officially addressing the situation.
