Egypt’s Rafah border crossing received a new group of wounded and ill Palestinians from the Gaza Strip on Sunday, as part of ongoing efforts to provide urgent medical care, according to Al Qahera News.

Dozens of ambulances were stationed at the crossing to transfer patients immediately upon arrival, as medical teams coordinated the evacuation process. The evacuees were accompanied by a number of relatives, with priority given to critical and urgent cases.

The injuries include simple and compound fractures, limb amputations and other war-related trauma. The group also includes patients suffering from chronic conditions such as cancer and kidney failure, requiring specialized treatment and regular dialysis sessions.

All arrivals undergo initial medical screening and triage inside a designated quarantine zone at the crossing, staffed by approximately 40 doctors from various specialties. During this stage, each case is carefully assessed to determine its severity and the appropriate treatment pathway before being transferred to designated hospitals.

Four hospitals in North Sinai have been allocated to receive the wounded, while additional patients are being transferred to medical facilities in Cairo and the New Administrative Capital. Authorities have mobilized around 150 hospitals nationwide under a comprehensive medical response plan to ensure sustained and specialized care for those evacuated from Gaza.
