The Rafah Crossing in North Sinai on Friday received the 21st batch of Palestinian returnees heading back to the Gaza Strip, along with wounded and ill patients arriving from the enclave, after Egypt reopened the crossing on an exceptional basis to facilitate movement for Palestinians.

An official source at the crossing said entry procedures for the new group were finalized in preparation for their return to Gaza.

A team from the Egyptian Red Crescent welcomed Palestinian returnees on the Egyptian side of the Rafah Crossing, coordinating with relevant authorities to streamline procedures. The team distributed “return bags” and provided psychological support to children.

The source added that Egyptian authorities are receiving the 21st batch of wounded and sick Palestinians from Gaza for treatment in Egyptian hospitals. The Ministry of Health has established a medical point in Rafah to examine arrivals, triage cases, and transfer patients to hospitals using fully equipped ambulances.

The continued humanitarian effort underscores Egypt’s role in facilitating medical evacuations and supporting Palestinians amid ongoing hardships in Gaza.
