The Egyptian authorities resumed on Tuesday the exceptional opening of the Rafah border crossing to receive the wounded and critical cases from the Gaza Strip and to allow stranded people to cross from both sides.
It also facilitates the entry of aid, equipment, reconstruction materials, and Egyptian technical crews into the strip.
Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, engineering equipment and Egyptian crews headed to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing to contribute to removing the rubble of destroyed homes, in preparation for the reconstruction process.
Egypt played a key role in achieving a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian factions and Israel to end 11 days of fighting in which more than 250 people were killed, most of them in Gaza.
